Social media can be stressful at the best of times, especially when you’re not getting the results you want. At Charlie Puffin Digital, we aim to take the stress out of social media, here are our top tips to keep your social media a stress-free zone.
Don’t stress about daily posting
While it’s true that posting daily on certain social media platforms can help drive follower growth and engagement, the reverse is also true and daily posting can lead to a disengaged and annoyed audience. As the old adage goes, familiarity breeds contempt and flooding your follower’s feeds can lead to them unfollowing.
Taking a look at accounts similar to yours, and those you enjoy following, can give you an idea of how often you should be posting. It’s also worth remembering that every social media platform is different, so a posting schedule for Facebook won’t work on Instagram and vice versa. Tailoring your posting schedule to each platform will also ensure that you’re meeting the needs of your audience on each platform.
Plan ahead
Planning your content will not only help you to deliver engaging content consistently but will also provide an overview of the coming weeks and even allow you the flexibility to plan in more topical posts as the need arises.

Don’t worry about metrics
Metrics are an incredibly useful tool to track your social media goals and show you how your social media is performing but they’re not the be all and end all. For example, audience growth is a key metric to track as it gives you an idea of how your account is growing, however, it’s not the most important, as a smaller but more engaged audience will be more likely to purchase from your business than a larger following that isn’t actively interacting with your content.
“At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you’re building relationships with your audience and expressing yourself and your business’ personality. Once you stop worrying about your schedule and how many likes you’re getting on each post, and start focusing on connecting with the right people, social media can be fun,” said social media manager Chloe Hales.
At Charlie Puffin Digital, we work with our clients to develop bespoke social media strategies and create personalised content calendars, freeing up your time to invest back into your business.
