Don’t Post & Ghost! (Importance of Social Media Engagement)

Posting regularly and consistently is great and important for your business – you’ll show up more in your followers feeds, get more reach, and hopefully get lots of social media engagement.

However – you can’t expect people to engage with you if you give them nothing in return. (Shocking, we know!)

It’s all about building a relationship.

This is true on any platform, particularly Instagram and LinkedIn where people tend to discover others through comments and mentions on posts.

If you’re shown to be actively engaging, people are more likely to click on your page to learn more.

If you want to be build a solid community of engaged followers, on any platform, you have to actually be social with them. Like and comment on their posts, react to their stories, and share their content. Show them support, and you’ll get support back!

Here are a few tips:

  • Engage with accounts who are within your target audience or are in your niche.
  • Leave valuable comments and be specific (not just one word!)
  • Post engaging and interactive stories that show the personality behind your business
  • Put yourself out there by regularly following and engaging with new, relevant accounts.

Remember: People buy into people.

This is also why we always recommend that our clients include their team within their content. A team photo is always going to perform better than a graphic or a testimonial, simply because people like to feel connected to others.
